Guided Adventures

Join one of the exceptional and unique guided paddling trips we offer daily. Each trip explores a specific area of fresh water Everglades habitat with special wonders all its own. Let our naturalist guides show you their favorite hidden places and share their secrets and facts about the Everglades. Experience these amazing adventures with us!

Each guided adventure trip spans a four-hour period of time and includes an orientation briefing, transportation from the Ivey House Inn to a local river, around 3 hours of paddle time, a snack, water and return transportation to the Ivey House. The maximum number of participants on each guided adventure is twelve: the minimum number is two, not including the guide. Traveling alone? Check with our adventure reservations staff to see if others have signed up. Once a trip has reached its minimum, you're welcome to join in!

Important stuff: children must be at least 7 years old to participate in our morning or afternoon adventures, and at least 10 years of age to participate in our sunset tour. For all tours, children under 12 must paddle in a tandem boat with a parent. We recommend you bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, shoes that can get wet/muddy, and bug spray. All trips are approximately 3 hours of slow, leisurely paddling.

Rates for each of the Adventures described below:
Ivey House guests: $ 99.00 + tax. Non-Ivey house guests: $124.00 + tax.
Price includes one bottled water and a snack.

Please note: Guided adventures and boat rentals are NOT offered on Seafood Festival weekend in early February.

Kayak into a New Day

There are few things more enchanting than the Everglades as she awakens. Glide through pristeen waterways as birds soar, trees whisper and the morning light and colors change.

Availability: This adventure is offered all year, weather permitting.

Time: Mornings only: 7:00am-11:00 am (May-November); 7:30am-11:30am (December-April)

Experience the Magic of the Mangroves

Paddle into the heart of the Everglades through a cypress swamp to a tunnel of mangroves, and perhaps float by turtles sunning on low branches or alligators basking on nearby banks.

Availability: This adventure is offered November 1 - April 30 only, conditions permitting.

Time: 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Paddle Into the Twilight

Feel the mystery and magic as night falls over the Everglades. Paddle through mangrove tunnels into a sawgrass prairie to watch the setting Florida sun. As darkness arrives, don a headlamp (provided) to paddle easily back to your launch point. On a clear night, you'll see a most amazing canopy of stars that stretches from the distant horizon clear up to the limits of our fantastic night sky.

Availability: This adventure is offered November 1 - April 30 only, conditions permitting.

Time: Varies: 4 hours total between 3:30 and 9:30pm, depending on time of sunset.

Group and Private Tours

We are happy to offer group and private tours to paddle the Everglades.

Availability: This adventure is offered all year, weather permitting.

Time: The times for group and private tours are flexible, and we are happy to work with you to design the perfect tour for you and your group.
